Pressy Smartphones is something even the Jetson's didn't have in their high-tech cartoon world of the future. The Pressy Smartphone is created with a hardware button that plugs into the headphone jack of your Android phone and just by pressing a button, it can perform a wide range of functions, according to Tech Crunch on Aug. 29.
The free Pressy app sets these functions into motion with just one button to press. You program these functions with the length of the press and the number of times you press that button. The Pressy app will allow you to program a range of shortcuts, each with their own combination of short or long presses. It sounds like Morse Code for your Android!
According to Tech Crunch, instead of taking a picture and then having to upload it manually into a social website, the Pressy Smartphone app lets you snap a picture and upload to Facebook, Twitter or another social network with just a press of this button.
It sounds as if it will be very important for you to keep the sequence of presses for this app straight in your own head. This could have the potential for you to take a picture that you might not want another living soul to see, but if you press one too many, or maybe not enough times, you could mistakenly send your picture to Facebook!
As Tech Crunch suggests you may be trying to take a sneaking picture, but you mistakenly use the press sequence for your phone's flashlight, drawing attention to yourself. Other than having to get your button presses down pat, it sounds like a wonderful time-saving device!
While the app is free, the pressy button hardware will only set you back a $17. This smart micro button is not due out until March of next year, but it sounds as it may be worth the wait.
