Pressy smartphones are causing a tremendous amount of fanfare this week, and while a button may not seem like much cause for celebration, thousands of phone users are already exciting about bringing this button back. A new Pressy button on Kickstarter has already gotten 3,000 likes and counting, as the button feature on a smartphone might serve several new options on the Android device, CNET reported this Thursday, Aug. 29.
While Pressy smartphones may still be some ways away from becoming the next big hit, the Pressy button is, in simplest terms, an external button that is physically pushed on the Android device. The compact button would be one, says Kickstarter, that would easily connect with the headphone port found on all types of Android smartphones and related tablets. When linked with the downloadable Pressy app, the button would then have access to “a bevy of useful and interesting functions for smartphone users,” notes the site.
Some of these Pressy smartphone functions and options? The app would be able to help users with such things as turning on the flashlight, putting phone on silent, and snapping a picture with just a click of the button (or rather, a set number of button clicks, depending on the function you would like done). The basis for the button would be to help users save time and steps in having to unlock or search for something on the iPhone, finding, an app, or swiping one’s way to their destined digital destination.
Some of the smartphone in-set options for the Pressy feature would include one long click translating to silent mode, while a double click would then take a photo without having to enter the camera option. Pressy smartphones via the app can then be customized for each user’s own likes and dislikes, from serving as an emergency call button to something like the designator for voice recording.
Want to listen to music on the Pressy smartphone? Don’t be worried: the button easily pops out so that you can listen to music, while the headphone media button on high-quality headphones can then serve as the source for Pressy’s individual commands.
Android users may definitely want in on this Pressy smartphone. What are your thoughts?
