Presque Isle reaches Eastern Maine final as winning streak extends to 64

BANGOR-- Hannah Graham scored 18 points to lead the Presque Isle Wildcats to a 53-49 victory over Foxcroft Academy in a Maine Principals' Association class B girls basketball semifinal game played on Wednesday evening.

The Ponies led 21-18 after the first quarter, and built the lead to 25-18 with three minutes remaining in the second quarter.

Presque Isle scored the last eight points of the second quarter to take a 26-25 halftime lead.

The second half started with Kaleigh Kinney making a three pointer to give Presque Isle a 29-25 lead.

The Wildcats built their lead to 44-37 after the third quarter.

Presque Isle took their biggest lead of the game when Regan Nelson put in a shot off an offensive rebound to give the Wildcats a 50-41 lead.

Krystal Kingsbury made three free throws in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Nelson recorded 15 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats. Kingsbury scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds.

Graham also contributed five rebounds, four steals, and three assists.

Presque Isle (20-0) will take a 64 game winning streak into their Eastern Maine final game against MDI on Saturday afternoon.

MDI defeated Nokomis 46-44 in their semifinal contest on Wednesday evening.

Brianna Skolfield led the Ponies with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Mackenzie Coiley added 10 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Amber Anderson chipped in with 10 points and four assists.

Foxcroft finishes the season with a 13-8 record.
