Will Costco stores be open or closed or have shortened hours on the Presidents Day, holiday, Monday Feb. 17, 2014?

As we approach the weekend before Valentine's Day, the Costco Web site was aggressively pushing Valentines Day specials. But of course, Valentines Day, is not a holiday. The holiday in February is Presidents Day. Many folks are already planning out errands for that day.

Fear not, Costco shoppers, Costco will be open regular hours on the Presidents Day holiday 2014, and all Presidents Days for that matter.

The Post Office, most schools, and most banks will close on the Presidents Day holiday. A few stores close on Presidents Day and some have shortened hours. But most stores stay open during the holiday and many offer specials. By the way, as NBC 12 reported Wednesday, some school districts in snowy states have had to cancel the Presidents Day holiday to make up for lost snow days.

Costco holidays

The next holiday that Costco will be closed is on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. Other Costco holidays are Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day (AKA 4th of July) Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Costco remains open on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day in January, Presidents Day and other holidays not mentioned above.

But once again, the bottom line is that Costco will remain open regular hours on the Presidents Day Holiday, Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. Costco San Francisco's regular weekday hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The store will be open during those hours on President's Day. Unlike banks, the USPS and a few other businesses, Costco will not be closed on the Presidents Day holiday.
