Presidents' Day, also known as Washington's Birthday, is observed on Monday, February 17, 2014 this year. It's a federal holiday and always has many Americans wondering, "Are banks open or closed on Presidents' Day 2014?"

Which Banks are Open Presidents' Day?

TD Bank will be open on Presidents' Day, February 17, 2014. Unlike most banks that are closed on Presidents' Day, TD Bank stores are one of the few banks that will be open normal business hours for all banking needs. Additionally, Washington Trust's McQuade's supermarket branch locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in certain locations. Local ATM machines are almost always open unless they're inside a bank lobby.

Which Banks are Closed Presidents' Day?

Here in the Providence, Rhode Island area, the following banks observe Presidents' Day, and their lobby and drive-up windows are closed as well.

Webster Bank's holiday schedule shows that their banks are not open on Presidents' Day.
Citizens Bank holiday schedule shows that their bank branches are closed on Presidents' Day.
Washington Trust's Bank Holiday Schedule shows that some of their banks are open on Presidents' Day.
Santander Bank offices will be closed to observe the 2014 Presidents' Day holiday.
Coastway Credit Union observes Presidents' Day on Monday, February 17, 2014.
Greenwood Credit Union's holiday schedule reports the bank is closed Presidents' Day.
Bank of America offices and banking centers will be closed in observance of Presidents' Day.

Local ATM machines are almost always open unless they're inside a bank lobby, supermarket or convenience store that is also closed for Presidents' Day. Call first to be sure.

Banks that are closed on Presidents' Day will reopen for normal business on Tuesday, February 18. NOTE: All transactions made on February 17 will be processed the next business day (with exceptions).

U.S. Post Office is Closed on Presidents' Day 2014

Presidents' Day is also a USPS post office holiday, which means there will be no mail delivery to your residence or business, and your local post office lobby will be closed as well. You'll need to finish your banking by the close of business on Saturday, February 15, or you'll have to wait until they reopen the following Tuesday.
