President stops in Illinois to talk about what should be our top priority

Our most important task should be driving our economy. He asked the audience how questions, how do we drive the economy, how do we take control of our energy and how do we get everyone on board to move forward with green energy.

"We're making real progress" as he spoke at Argonne National Laboratory to the crowd of employees. Mr. Obama stated we have to make the right choices in Washington talking about the sequester and why he was apposed to the automatic cuts.

Doctor Isaac, a researcher within the company stated the cuts will freeze research and cost billions of dollars in revenues because of lost time on development. President Obama went on to say the rest of the world continue to develop new and unique products and we need to also.

As the president talked he once again stated he is against the cuts and wants to work with both sides to "get our energy future right". Energy issues that citizens are concerned with are gas prices at the pumps. New taxes come out of their pockets and make it tough to budget the family income each month.

President Obama told the crowd that over the past four years his administration has been working on the problem. The administration has worked to increase gas mileage on cars in the upcoming years where the mpg will be over 40 miles on most all vehicles.

As Mr. Obama spoke about gas mileage he said what he has done isn't enough. He smile and stated we need to shift our cars entirely off oil will be the only way to reach the goals of the nation to become energy independent.

The most important statement made during the speech was our dependence on foreign oil is a national security risk and we need to fund another program to work on moving our nation off our reliance on foreign oils and make this nation thrive under new reusable energy.

One note is that we have a Department of Energy that was funded to find ways to reduce our dependency on foreign oil and now cost taxpayers 30.6 billion dollars a year to date and employs over 16 thousand individuals to oversee that task.
