Promotion for the final installment of The Hunger Games franchise has begun.
The haunting teaser released Wednesday, June 25, shows Panem's President Snow (Donald Sutherland) addressing the citizens about unity, prosperity, and sacrifice donned in all white with fellow District 12 Victor Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) absentmindedly staring off.
"Ours is an elegant system. We seek to nourish and protect," Snow ominously addresses the camera. "The capitol is the beating heart. Your hard work feeds us, and in return, we feed and protect you. But if you resist the system, you starve yourself. If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed." Peeta then stares right into the camera at the last second.
Fans of the books and movies know that this part of the series show a highjacked Peeta, who has been captured and tortured by the Capitol, and the propaganda or "propos" is significant for Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and her team of rebels residing in District 13.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, finds Katniss Everdeen in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage.
