President of IACP rejects immigration enforcement

Chief Patrick J. O'Connor

Pat O'Connor, president of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, attended a pro-amnesty rally last week and, with a straight face, told the crowd that the police "cannot give [illegal immigrants] the protection they deserve" because they are "afraid to speak to us."

They should be afraid to talk to the police. They illegally broke into this country. They should be arrested.

And no, those who spit on our laws while bankrupting our schools, crowding our prisons and compromising public safety at every turn do not deserve protection.

What planet is this guy on?

It is truly a sign of how hopelessly lost this state is that our own police chiefs refuse to comprehend the blatantly obvious reality that enforcing the law would make these people leave, thereby solving the problem.

The vast majority of Americans reject this idiocy (see here, here and here). If you would like to ask Chief O'Connor to wake up and stop stabbing taxpayers and law-abiding immigrants in the back, here is his email address:

This is pure garbage, because illegal aliens usually commit crime against other illegal aliens, in which case they don't want police around anyway. This guy is a traitor to American citizens and should be fired. Like mentioned in the article, illegals SHOULD be afraid, Arizona has set an example on how it should be done, and I hope other states follow suit. Make it hard, very hard, they will leave, as they should.

Illegal immigration is a crime and the individuals and organizations that aid, abet and harbor them are accomplices, accessories and criminals themselves. That is not racism, bigotry, nothing to do with slavery, it is just the plain color-blind and factual truth of hard-core economics. " Billions of dollars are being appropriated annually to support their education, health care and and hundreds of undisclosed welfare entitlements and now have sponged off the American people long enough.

The Illinois Minuteman Project brought one of the most courageous Police Chiefs in the Country to Illinois to talk to us about his enforcement of immigration laws, to protect the citizens of the city which he has leadership over. He is a true leader and champion to law abiding citizens who depend on the Chief of Police to do the right thing! Thank God for real men and real leaders like Garrett Chamberlain, chief of police, NEW IPSWICH, N.H.

The unfunded mandate of diverting local money to enforce federal civil (not criminal) law is a huge burden on local cops already stretched thin with cut budgets. These programs tend to get non-criminal immigrants into deportation, which in a nation of 11 million immigrants here illegally, doesn't sound like a high priority to me. The fantasy of mass deportation or making things so hostile that that 11 million people leave on their own is blocking real immigration reform that holds employers and immigrants accountable, allows legal immigration as an alternative to illegal immigration, and gets immigrants in the system, on the books, and protected by rights so they can't be used to undercut other workers. I applaud the chief because he stands for real law and order, not the wrong-headed anti-immigration simplicity that has lead to less law and less order.

Listen people, especially all you racist, right-winged Teabaggers. If the Am. Indians had guns and an "USCIS" none of you would be here after pillaging their villages and forcefully making the their country yours. I always laugh when the racists right-wingers whine as Karma comes back to bite them in the as*.

And Moon, it is the duty of Federal police to arrest the illegals not the local police. Don't be an idiot when you write your mediocre articles! Furthermore, don't quote Rasmussen as your source! They are very right-winged, hardly a non-biased organization.

I hope all of you idiots have learned something new from me. And you are welcome.

    GrayRiv,

Enforcement has slowed illegal immigration dramatically:

And no, having the police drive illegal immigrants to deportation facilities when they run across them DOES NOT cost too much money...especially when you consider what these parasites do to our school budgets, our prison budgets, our welfare budgets, etc.

    Do your homework next time.

Un-American woman: "Listen people, especially all you racist, right-winged Teabaggers..."

Another "pro-tolerance," "pro-diversity" liberal showing us meanies who support the rule of law how it's done. Hilarious.

Un-American Woman: "I always laugh when the racists right-wingers whine as Karma comes back to bite them in the as*."

Our ancestors conquered this land through war and land deals...and that means anyone who wants the law enforced is a racist getting what they deserve?

Nice logic. I love "debating" with liberals.

I take it you think we would all be fine with importing 15 million uneducated poor people at the expense of law-abiding immigrants...if only they were white?

  • Robert Moon 2 years ago

Un-American Woman: "It is the duty of Federal police to arrest the illegals not the local police."

Except when the federal government refuses to, thereby royally screwing the states over...at that point, it obviously becomes a state responsibility. Try thinking it through next time.

Un-American Woman: "Don't quote Rasmussen as your source! They are very right-winged, hardly a non-biased organization."

The illegals in Illinois cost Illinois taxpayers 4 BILLION dollars a year! And gee, what is the current budget deficit? That would be 4 billion dollars, and our state debt is over 13 billion, because of the criminals who entered the country ILLEGALLY! And because of the freebies they are illegally given by the state of Illinois.

Oh, did I mention the nearly 100 billion dollars the state pension fund is illegally underfunded. The city I live in is cutting teachers and programs because the state can't pay my city's school district the money they promised... affecting my children & grandchildren. The illegals aren't the victims, we citizens are. If the federal government had upheld the law like they swore to do, we wouldn't be in this mess. Law enforcement should enforce the law, that's their job. O'Connor should stop telling illegals they are the victims, WE taxpaying citizens are the victims, victims of the illegal immigrant leeches!

Robert Moon: You sound like a racist, uneducated Teabagger. What gives?

  • Ed W. 2 years ago

    Mr. Moon,

Why are you letting them get to you? Don't let them get to you.

By the way, I feel CIS.org and Rasmussen are Right-biased. And furthermore how can you quote one of your other articles as a source??? Where did you learn to write news articles? How is Examiner.com letting you write?

  • Robert Moon 2 years ago

Ed W: "By the way, I feel CIS.org and Rasmussen are Right-biased."

The evidence posted shows otherwise. Top to bottom, left to right...it's called reading.

Ed. W: "How can you quote one of your other articles as a source?"

How can you misrepresent someone referencing sites like Zogby and Politics Daily as them citing their own articles? Not rocket science.

  • Robert Moon 2 years ago

Bob Sun: "Robert Moon: You sound like a racist, uneducated Teabagger. What gives?"

As opposed to someone who responds to all intellectual confrontation by calling people names? Welcome to the 3rd grade.

And I realize liberals aren't big fans of reading, but as we've already established, Tea Partiers are more educated, more successful, more racially representative of the country and 4 out of every 10 are Democrats or independents:

Go lay down and let the adults finish their conversation.

Roberto Moon: This is funny. Are you the article actual author going at it with these liberals on the post?

I think it would be helpful if you quoted some Lefty sites as your reference. That way the liberals can't say crap. But you as a Righty siting Righty sites like Rasmussen is not a good idea. No matter what you say, I as an Independent think Rasmussen is Right.

  • Robert Moon 2 years ago

    Elise,

Then you are ignoring the facts. Not my problem.

Rasmussen was the only one that correctly pegged the Tea Partiers as representing the mainstream from the beginning. It has taken the rest over a year to reach the same incredibly obvious conclusion.

As with liberals and Fox News, you are rejecting BALANCE, while mislabeling it as IMBALANCE.
