While the killing of Osama bin Laden in no way ends the global war on terror, Obama did a good job
We may not be any safer now that Osama bin Laden is dead. We may actually face increased risk of a terrorist attack as a result. None-the-less, I give President Obama the kudos that he deserves for getting the job done that needed to get done. In fact, he gets rewarded with an improved presidential legacy.
The Barack Obama/Jimmy Carter battle at the bottom
As fallible human beings it is extremely important that we can look at ourselves critically and be able to say, "Hey, I made a mistake." I have made one of those mistakes and I am here today to come clean, clear the air and provide a remedy.
For some time now I have been saying how lucky Jimmy Carter is to have had Barack Obama ascend to the White House. How being known as the worst president of all time is a tag that no one would ever want to wear, but that is about where Jimmy Carter always placed. Until Obama of course.
After two plus years in office I would say, Barack Obama had easily supplanted Jimmy Carter at the bottom of the totem poll position. And believe me that was no easy trick!
I WAS WRONG ! Barack Obama/Jimmy Carter flip-flop!
In my book the decision to put Jimmy Carter back squarely on the bottom rung and move Barack Obama up one notch is a no-brainer. All that it took was this:
A) Jimmy Carter: The miserable failure of Operation Eagle Claw attempting to free the Iranian hostages back in 1980.
B) Barack Obama: Osama bin Laden is dead!
Congratulations President Obama. At least in this case it was a job well done.
