President Obama to visit Decatur school on Thursday

President Barack Obama will travel to Atlanta, Georgia this coming Thursday to visit a local early childhood learning facility in Decatur.

The principal of the College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center, Suzanne Kennedy, sent out a note to the parents alerting them to the high profile visit.

“I have exciting news to share with you about an event at College Heights: President Barack Obama will be on our campus Thursday, February 14, 2013! President Obama’s visit is an honor for College Heights and the City Schools of Decatur,” said Kennedy in the note.

The school is currently on its winter break, but the pre-K and Head Start classes will meet on Thursday just to welcome the President.

Obama will travel to the South this week for the first time since his reelection. He was in Atlanta most recently in June of last year for a fundraiser.

The President will address Congress on Tuesday in his State of the Union speech, on Wednesday he will travel to Asheville, N.C., and on Thursday to Georgia. No further details have been released by the White House.
