President Obama, 'tear down this wall' of UFO secrecy

Open letter to President Obama:

Dear Mr. President,

Americans have been imprisoned for over 60 years behind a ‘Berlin wall’ of oppressive lies and secrecy about UFOs and extraterrestrial visitors. Those who dared to escape this prison and expose the truth have been threatened, harassed, assaulted, and worse, by agents of the U.S. Government. This letter is an appeal to end such illegal and un-American activities and to disclose secret UFO files.

Your first calendar year in office has been admirable. Even your first day in office included your historic memorandum stating that, "The Government should not keep information confidential merely because public officials might be embarrassed by disclosure, because errors and failures might be revealed, or because of speculative or abstract fears.”

Your memorandum of December 30, 2009 continued this theme by stating that “no information may remain classified indefinitely” with respect to national security. Your instruction in the same memorandum, to “identify classified information that no longer requires protection and can be declassified”, potentially opens the gate for your historic effort toward openness in government, but only if applied.

Therefore, I urge you to disclose files on UFOs and visits by extraterrestrial intelligent beings to the United States. President Reagan and President Carter reported clear UFO sightings. Hundreds of former U.S. military and intelligence personnel, and government contractors have been part of The Disclosure Project. They have shared first hand accounts of similar and other incidents but in greater detail. Once you authorize official disclosure, even more details will emerge that will be of great interest to the public.

Mr. President, you know that diplomatic relations and trade with other countries are vital for economic development, healthcare, cultural richness, and education of our country and the world. Acknowledging the presence of “people from other planets” will result in even bigger and more diverse benefits for humanity and our damaged environment.

Public opinion polls conducted for the last 10-20 years have shown that a large majority of those polled believe that we are not alone in the universe. Similar majorities believe that we have been visited by other civilizations and that the U.S. government has covered up these facts. These poll respondents are many of the same smart, brave, and progressive American citizens that elected you to the Office of President.

Mr. President, it is time to reveal that we are being visited by people from outside our planet. It is time to consider the benefits of peaceful relations with them. Over 10,000 people in Metro Denver alone have signed the petition to put a proposed ordinance on the August 2010 Denver ballot to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission. A recent L.A. Times blog poll showed that over 70% of respondents thought that their hometown should also have an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission.

We would be honored to work with you on this historic and timely campaign to acknowledge our visiting extended ‘family’ from throughout the universe. But we will not wait for you. We are doing this now because, as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “It is always the right time to do the right thing.” Disclosure of UFO files is the ‘right thing’. It is long over due for America but is already under way by other nations, including Russia.

The UFO “balloon boy” hoax of October this year was but a small mirror image of the vast and costly hoax done by the U.S. government to American citizens. This hoax has lasted for over 60 years -- more than twice the period of the Berlin wall.

The 20th anniversary of opening the Berlin wall occurred this year. So on New Year’s Eve of 2009, in making this appeal to you, I paraphrase President Reagan’s famous challenge to Mr. Gorbachev:

“We, the People, welcome change and openness; for we believe that freedom and security go together, that the acknowledgement of our extraterrestrial brothers and sisters can only strengthen the cause of world peace. There is one sign the United States government can make that would be unmistakable, that would advance dramatically the cause of freedom and peace. President Obama, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the United States and the world, if you seek truth, come here to this historic opportunity. Mr. President, open the files on UFOs and extraterrestrial visitors. Mr. President, ‘tear down this wall’ of UFO secrecy.”

Happy New Year!

Respectfully,

Jeff Peckman

This open letter is nothing more than pointless pseudopolitical activism, since the result will be zero. President Obama is an intelligent man and he knows exactly, he wouldn't survive an uncoordinated, unilateral disclosure of mindbogglingly dangerous things. That's the law. And issues of (inter)national security are not a matter, the general populace has to deal with. People should simply accept, they are centuries away from the maturity, they could handle the topic in question and its implications.

Basel - Mr Peckman certainly does speak for himself.

On every examiner contributor's main page, there is a table that shows the top 20 topics that the author chooses to discuss in his articles. Other examiner columns show their top topics being related to their column's stated purpose. So according to this table, what is the number ONE topic that Jeff Peckman discusses in his column? It is ETs? UFOs? Disclosure?

Nope. The number ONE topic of Jeff Peckman's columns is: JEFF PECKMAN.

To see for yourself, just click on Jeff Peckman’s picture at the top of this article. So there is no doubt who Jeff Peckman speaks for. Not the UFO community. Not the people of Denver. He speaks for Jeff.

Every citizen should be concerned with national security, international security, and interstellar security. Mostly though, we should be outraged that the military's black budget is in the trillions.

We the people, the ones who elect our public officials and deserve to know where our tax money is going, and have the right to say how it should be spent. We need health care and education. Not weapons research and other secret projects that only benefit some select individuals and corporations, and not the public.

    Eloquently spoken as usual

  • Shol'va 2 years ago

    @Michael:
Your right to know starts with the applicable FOIA regulations and ends whenever (inter)national security issues exempt such knowledge - and the associated fundings. That's the law [National Security Act, 1947]. And your government governs you - and not vice versa. It dosen't matter whether you accept that facts or not. If people felt, their elected politicians do not represent their interrests as much as they liked, then they should elect others. So simple is that.

critics and people that rather live their life in denial will always be around.the good thing is that they can be ignored, and when the truth comes out we will remember the ones that did fight for it.change is part of our lives, some people are ready and some are not.

It seems that Mr. Peckman is now accusing us of somehow getting into his "16 personal friends" e-mail accounts and posting the contents to publlic forums.
Because we are in a public forum, I am going to ask a question about comment from Mr. Peckman.
Does the comment "If Baxter and Bonner want excerpts from my private e-mail (to 26 personal friends) posted in public, then the public might as well have the entire text of the part related to Baxter and Bonner. So here it is in brackets:" mean that you are accusing us of somehow hacking into yours or one of your "26 personal friends" e-mail accounts?
If that is the case, I would assume that you have contacted the proper authorities about this very legal issue and personal attack? Or... maybe you are once again trying to spin the opposition without offering any facts. Just like the lack of facts to back up the E.T. Affairs Commission.

  • Jeff Peckman 2 years ago

" If Baxter and [Bryan]Bonner want excerpts from my private e-mail (to 26 personal friends) posted in public, then the public might as well have the entire text of the part related to Baxter and Bonner. So here it is in brackets [2 parts]:

["ghostchaser"[Baxter and Bonner] comments are from a couple of ghost-hunter wannabes that are on a mission to get attention for themselves by continuously attacking Stan Romanek and me. They are harmless and demonstrate their ignorance and hostility every time they post something.

They are just positioning themselves opposite the ballot initiative supporters because they think the media will always come to them for an opposing view. That's how they try to get themselves into the news since they don't do anything newsworthy otherwise.

But the news media has already seen through their scam and mostly ignores them. [con't in my next posting]

  • Jeff Peckman 2 years ago

{con't from previous posting] These nut cases [Baxter and Bryan] actually suggested to me in person that I participate in their scam by building up some "battle" that the news media would cover. But I refused and just told them they would be better off simply being honest and ethical. Apparently that didn't get very far with them. So they continue with their silly rants. That's why it's better to ignore them. They feed off anger of others and can't escape their own darkness.]"

  • Bryan & Baxter 2 years ago

Apparently you did not read the previous post?
We see that you are claiming that the e-mail just went out to your “26 personal friends”, if that is the case are you accusing us of somehow hacking into someone’s e-mails? It looks to us like that is the accusation.
Also we did not ask you to be involved in part of a “scam” as you claim. We said that the issue was getting more attention because there was a vocal opposition.
The comment about the “ghost- hunter wannabes” is also an interesting spin on the facts. Not only have we been involved in paranormal claims investigations for over 11 years, we have had the media attention the majority of the time. We have been featured on all of the local media outlets, ABC Family Channel, National Geographic Channel, Sci-Fi Channel, and the list goes on… This was all before your ideas about creating an E.T. Commission.
We would suggest doing a little research about the people you are talking about before making wild claims that contradict

  • Bryan & Baxter 2 years ago

    the truth.
So… once again, are you accusing us of committing a cyber-crime of intercepting “personal e-mails”? If this is the case please contact the authorities and let them know so we can talk to them about it. It seems that you just making this up to make you opposition the “bad guys”.

  • Bryan & Baxter 2 years ago

    Ok....

Nine days after us asking the legal question about accusations of a Felony and no response?
What do we need to do to get you to answer this very important question, do we need to contact the proper authorities for you?

  • Jeff Peckman 2 years ago

Bryan & Baxter - Open your eyes and go towards the light, any light. If you stay on the path of darkness, it will not turn out well for you.

  • Bryan & Baxter 2 years ago

We ask a serious question about serious accusations and you reply with nonsense.
So.... one more time, are you accusing us of breaking into private e-mail or not?

  • Bryan & Baxter 2 years ago

6 days after your reply of nonsense to a very serious criminal/legal accusation and still nothing?

What can we do to find out if you are serious about your accusations?

  • Oden 2 years ago

maybe we should get the 'Yes Men' involved in this.

Good one! Can you imagine what THEY would do?!!! This would be priceless!
