President Obama's Campaign Music Playlist

President Barack Obama’s official campaign music playlist – the music that he will be playing as he tours and campaigns throughout the U.S.A. – has been made public.  More surprising than who made the list is who didn’t make the list.

Certain recording artists who Obama tends to fawn over are not on the playlist, such as Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye.  Other artists are surprisingly on the list, telling the nation that he has more widely diverse tastes in music than previously thought.

The songs on Obama’s playlist are: (song, artist)

  • Different People – No Doubt
  • Got to Get You into My Life – Earth Wind & Fire Experience featuring Al McKay Allstars
  • Green Onions – Booker T. & the MGs
  • I Got You – Wilco
  • Keep on Pushing – The Impressions
  • Love You I Do – Jennifer Hudson
  • No Nostalgia – Ages and Ages
  • Raise Up – Ledisi
  • Stand Up – Sugarland

The list shows that Obama is ‘into’ more than just the R&B artists he tends to promote via invitations to the White House and the ones he has commented on publicly.

Now, to see if any of the artists tell Obama not to use their songs, as Newt Gingrich was recently told to quit using ‘Eye of the Tiger’ by one of the two writers of the song.
