President Obama returns to NC State University on January 15, 2014

On Wednesday, January 15, 2014, NC State University will have the distinguished honor of hosting President Barack Obama for a second time during his presidential tenure. The topic of President Obama’s 2014 event at NC State University is the economy with possible comments on unemployment; a sharp contrast to his speech in September of 2011 about supporting his American Jobs Act.

President Obama is the fourth sitting president of the United States of America to visit NC State University. He is preceded by Presidents Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy and most recently Ronald Reagan.

Obama’s speech in 2011 at NC State brought together nearly 10,000 people in Reynolds’s Coliseum; however the president’s planned stop this week will be in the more intimate venue of the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center, on Varsity Drive across from Doak Field, at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
