President Obama, like millions of Americans, traveled back to the place he grew up for the Christmas Holiday. Since the President spent part of his youth in Hawaii, his trip home was full of sun, sand and tropical breezes. The Obama family vacationed at a compound in Kailua.
The President arrived on Air Force One at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu on December 23 to join the First Lady and their daughters for their winter holiday vacation.
On Christmas Eve, President Obama traveled to the Marine Corps base where he played golf with friends. On December 25, President and Mrs. Obama made their annual trip to greet current and retired members of the U.S. military and their families in Kaneohe, Hawaii, where the families ate a Christmas Day meal in the Anderson Hall mess hall at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
The Obamas also visited the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve and Sea Life Park on December 27 in Honolulu and the President’s motorcade headed back to Ko'olau Golf Club on December 28.
