The leader of the free world has gone to Mars: that's the claim being made by a pair of government workers and self-professed 'Chrononauts,' a fancy word for time, who claim that the president went with them to Mars over two decades ago.
And many people thought the birther controversy was a bit extreme!
Well, that's exactly what William Stillings and Andrew D. Basiago are claiming happened. Basiago, a lawyer, claims that he, Stillings, Obama, and now head of DARPA, Regina Dugan, were all part of a small group of 10 young adults who were chosen for a beyond top secret mission involving teleporting to the Red Planet. As for the president himself, at least according to these sensational claims, he visited Mars twice, once in 1981 and again 2 years later.
Reason for the whole mission: to get the Martians used to Earthlings in the event that we eventually go there in large numbers.
Well, maybe.
For anyone wanting the complete tall tale about the president's (and others') adventures on Mars, go here for an interview with Stillings and Basiago.
Now, while common sense says that teleporting to Mars is impossible, the good news is that the Red Planet is up in the sky right now. To see Mars, go out in the predawn sky and look high and due South about 6am. That bright red 'star' a little past half way to zenith (overhead)? That's Mars.
