Ironically, the day President Barack Obama heads off to Hawaii for some rest and relaxation, ABC-TV is airing of a Barbara Walters' holiday special featuring Obama and FLOTUS Michelle Obama on ‘20/20’ in which the President admits there’s a ‘laziness’ in him. Moreover, Obama says that today’s Air Force One’s destination is the blame for his laziness – Hawaii.
While critics have claimed that he has vacationed excessively and supporters compare Obama’s vacation record to other Presidents before him, the fact is that times are terrible now. Have other Presidents gone off to destinations for from Washington, D.C. when Congress is at odds or when the economy and job market is in the dumpster? No. Does a businessman go on vacation when his business is in the dumpster? No, it doesn’t matter what the previous owner of the business or the previous CEOs have done – a vacation is out of the question. But, say critics, not for Obama – he has vacationed regularly during extremely bad times for Americans and tense, unproductive times in Congress.
In the interview with Barbara Walters which will be televised Friday night, Obama admits:
There is a deep down, underneath all the work I do, I think there's a laziness in me. It's probably from, you know, growing up in Hawaii, and it's sunny outside and sitting on the beach.
Yet, Obama says what many people with laziness within would not say. He claims that he absolutely deplores laziness in others. He says that:
Nothing frustrates me more than when people aren't doing their jobs.
Persons with a unique insight into the behaviors of people would say that we really didn’t need a Barbara Walters’ interview to tell us that President Obama has a lazy streak. Persons with that unique perception have known it all along.
The White House will be Obama-less for the next ten days as he vacations in Hawaii. Know it – because you’re paying for it.
