President Barack Obama’s older brother, Malik Obama, has 12 wives, and he is accused of actually beating one who was underage when he married her, which he denies. According to a March 9 article on Daily Mail, President Barack Obama and Malik Obama, or Roy as he is called, were best men at each other’s weddings. It was actually the first time that Malik Obama was married that he was attended by his brother; the other eleven times, he was on his own.
Daily Mail has a detailed feature article about Malik Obama with photographs from President Obama’s home in Kenya. The president’s older sibling is a devout Muslim who was also very fond of Libya’s infamous leader, Muammar Gadhafi. According to the article, Malik Obama once asked his powerful brother to come to the aid of the Libyan leader when his people turned against him in 2011.
President Obama refused to provide the assistance that his older brother requested, but Malik Obama described his brother as respectful of the differences in their beliefs. He said that he sees his brother around once a year, according to Daily Mail.
I see my brother privately at least once a year, when I go to visit him in the White House and say hello. It’s like visiting a working national monument, such as the Smithsonian or Buckingham Palace.
Malik suffered an embarrassing political defeat in this week in Kenya when he ran for governorship of Siaya County. According to this article in the Daily Mail, President Obama’s brother, Malik, wants to be President Obama of Kenya!
