"It's time to give America a raise."

President Barack Obama wants all American workers to earn at least $10.10 an hour and has promoted an increase in the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour. During a speech at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain Connecticut on March 5, President Barack Obama praised Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlour, in Dania, Beach Florida for raising its minimum wage to $10.10 an hour. The message was broadcast on C-Span.

Many people in the food service industry have criticized efforts to raise minimum wage saying it will discourage the hiring of less skilled workers. But other restaurant operators, like Jaxsons believes a higher wage attracts high quality workers and encourages them to stay with the company.
