President Barack Obama avoids "The Curse of Baba Booey" (video)

Obama threw out the first pitch at Tuesday night's All-Star Game, and put an end to the scourge of horrible celebrity pitches in recent months that has come to be known as "The Curse of Baba Booey."  Howard Stern Show producer Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate threw what some believe to be the worst first pitch in history at the Mets game on May 9th.

Since Baba Booey's flimsy toss, Podcast-personality Adam Corolla threw a stinker in the dirt at the Dodgers' game and Mark "Marky Mark" Wahlberg threw an embarrassingly lame lob far left of the plate at a Boston Red Sox game.

Maybe that's why Fox Sports took a bizarre camera angle on President Barack Obama as he took the mound to pitch on Tuesday.  Viewers could barely tell what was going on as the Fox cameraman stood about a mile from the mound and took an angle that barely showed the catcher on the horizon.

The reason for the cautious shot?  It's gotta be fear of "The Curse of Baba Booey."

Fans of President Barack Obama had nothing to fear.  Obama threw a solid pitch across the plate and proved that "The Curse of Baba Booey" need not plague celebrity tossers indefinitely.

A solid pitch across the plate? Are you kidding me? The catcher (who wasn't even the catcher) was crouching ON TOP of the plate, and he barely caught it before it hit the dirt! The curse, I am afraid, is not broken.

You're probably right about the odd camera angle and the camera man being so far, I could barely see the catcher or follow the ball- which was probably intentional.
