America is ill. Metaphorically if the United States of America was a hospital patient it would be laying in a hospital bed in an intensive care unit. Unfortunately for Americans the “life threatening” affliction that has crippled our nation isn’t a regional disorder.
From America’s New England states (Good morning to Maine’s Governor Paul LePage, who for some reason likes to tell Republican donors that “Obama hates White people” …Duh his mother and maternal grandparents were White), to the green pastures and swamps that saturate America’s Southeast (Good morning to Louisiana’s Governor Bobby Jindal….So 39% of White Louisianans blame President Obama for the U.S. government’s lackluster 2005 Hurricane Katrina response? President Obama wasn’t elected President until November 2008. Wow…you have a lot of dumb people in the bayou sir), to the fertile farmlands of the Midwest that stretches westward across the Colorado Rockies (Good morning Colorado State Senator Vicki Marble who believes that the reason why Black Americans have serious health issues is primarily because they eat a lot of good tasting fried chicken…I couldn’t make this up if I tried), to the beaches that exquisitely line the coasts of Southern California and the Pacific Northwest, to finally the untamed wilderness of Alaska , the United States of America, a nation that is known globally in folklore as the “home of the brave and land of the free” is experiencing a serious identity crisis that threatens to rip it apart.
It’s only because of Hawaii’s seclusion from the U.S. mainland and its unique / strong Pacific-Polynesian history that it may be the only state in our union that has not been too seriously infected with the madness that is crippling the rest of our nation.
So what’s the malady that threatens to kill the “patient” named America? Honestly, it’s the political far, far right-wings inability to accept the “Browning” of America and it all began when a brown-skinned U.S. Senator, with a “funny sounding name” from Illinois was elected President of the United States in November 2008.
President Barack Hussein Obama…the man who Ultra Conservatives love to hate
White racists in America hate President Obama, the problem is whenever during political discourse the subject of why "Birthers" STILL deny President Obama's American citizenship is discussed in a group setting / environment, or why a Tea Party dominated congress refuses to pass any legislation that has President Obama’s “stamp of approval” on it, it's guaranteed that a substantial number of eyes in the group will roll upwards towards the ceiling as if to say, "not again".
This exaggerated nonverbal response is meant to indirectly challenge any person(s) that's willing to suggest to the group that the real motive behind Birther / Conservative / Tea Party scrutiny of President Obama's Honolulu, Hawaii place of birth and the reason they can’t stand to even use the title “President” in conjunction with the name “Obama” is because of their pure / unadulterated hatred / intolerance of a Black Man occupying the highest office in the country.
However, to the average hard working trying to "make-ends-meet" White American, the mere suggestion of intolerance in the United States is too often a "worn out", "over played" predictable tactic used by disgruntled Blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans, Muslims, Gays, Asians and Liberal race-baiters who refuse to acknowledge that race relations and acceptance of Gays in America is "actually getting better", after all didn't White Americans help elect a Black President?
If indeed a picture is worth a thousand words then imagine a snapshot of "rolling of eyes" and a bubble caption located directly over the eyes with words written in big bold neon-lights that reads, "I'm so tired of hearing Liberals complain about Conservative racial prejudices". This fictional scenario is exactly how a lot of White Americans feel when racism against President Obama is exposed and challenged.
A quick couple of questions for Birthers and the people who love to support them, “Is it OK that Texas Republican Senator and Tea Party “darling” Ted Cruz was born to an American mother in Canada and that his father is Cuban? Gee, I wonder if his daddy “pal’d around” with that “super commie” Fidel Castro in Cuba “back in the day”?
Could it be Mr. and Mrs. Birther that Senator Cruz receives a free pass from your ire and scrutiny because of the great animosity he displays for President Obama and he’s on your “lotto pick three” for presidential candidates in 2016? Inquiring minds want to know.
Newsflash....The world is full of "funny people" and America is no exception to being the home of more than a "handful" of these Neanderthal minded individuals that shiver at the thought of accepting the inevitable emergence of cultural diversity in their once sheltered places of work and home communities.
Going...going....gone are the picturesque American Norman Rockwell "type" communities that Birthers and supporters of Birthers romantically reminisce of and openly yearn for.
Federal laws prohibit housing discrimination and enables Americans with names like Tanisha Robinson, Julio Rodriquez and Ali Qadir the opportunity to invest (yes, invest) their money in homes within communities that have great school systems which in-turn provide their children with the necessary educational tools to one day be captains of industries and legislators of law. (Scary “stuff” isn’t it Mr. and Mrs. Birther)
Receiving a great education and providing all children with an opportunity to succeed in life is the key that unlocks the door to success.
Believe it or not, when GW Bush signed the "No child left behind Act" in 2001, it embodied a long standing belief that all American children deserve a quality education.
This American principle of educational fairness enabled the American born son of a Black African man and a White American woman to win academic scholarships that would later in life transform / propel him into becoming the most scrutinized critical thinker / administrator of the 21st Century.
It's hard for a Birther to conceptualize the concept of a man named Barack Hussein Obama, a man that never resided on "Norman Rockwell Street", as an individual that could ever hold the highest office in the United States / "Free World".
They're afraid to accept the fact that Americans of all races, creeds, sexual orientation and physical disabilities deserve an equal chance as critical thinkers and problem solvers to one day sit in the White House's Oval Office as Commander-in-Chief.
In hindsight, President Obama with his own many successes may even cause some Birthers to reflect inwardly and question their own status in life and their own false sense of superiority.
The reality of a Black family living in the White House only enhances their fear that the world is changing too fast and they and theirs are no longer “special".
What's truly sad when listening to a Birther dispute facts that clearly substantiates President Obama's American citizenship and his “presidential legitimacy”, is the negative impression of the United States and its citizens they (The Birthers) project to others throughout the world that are "tuning in" and wondering why the U.S. doesn't implode from its self-hate.
The far majority of the world fully understands that in global competition, an environment that provides equal opportunities to all of its citizens, enables even the most economically disenfranchised to see past life inequities and go for all the gusto that life has to offer.
Barack Hussein Obama to the dismay of the Birther represents the antithesis of a socially bred / engineered lie ("we better than you") that erroneously and immorally judges a person by the color of their skin and not by the content of their character, as once magnificently proclaimed in a speech by MLK.
So in order to "right the ship" and put the world back on its "proper" axis, the Birther must believe with a religious zeal that Barack Hussein Obama is without a doubt an American imposter.
Political Science 201 teaches that regardless of its validity, a fabricated statement if nurtured and repeated endlessly (24/7 Cable News) will eventually plant seeds of doubt in even the most semi-objective of minds. I guess this kind of explains why 39% of Louisianans erroneously blame President Obama for former President Bush’s 2005 mishandling of Hurricane Katrina aid.
There it is in a nutshell. The solution to the Birther / Tea Party / Ultra Conservative quest of chipping away at President Obama's legacy / legitimacy as the 44th and yes haters, “REELECTED” President of the United States is to continuously accuse him of being the anti-Christ. Y’all really need to get over the “browning” of America and get a life.
If you don't believe this Opinion Editorial, then just ask a Birther, they'll be glad to tell you that (1) Barack Hussein Obama is the Anti-Christ and (2) it was a proletariat comprised of long haired, Hippy-Liberal, Socialist loving, Gay loving, American hating conspirators" that despised both Ronald Reagan and John Wayne that gave the United States that smooth talking, basketball playing "demon" named Barack Hussein Obama.
I couldn't have made this up if I tried
As always the New Orleans Examiner is interested in what you think. Can the Tea Party / Ultra Conservatives (Code name for Rednecks) ever accept that America is no longer "Lily White" in complexion and most likely will never be again? Inquiring minds want to know.
Until next time Louisianans, Good Day, God Bless and Good Fishing.
By the way, Fact Check.Org dispels all Birther claims that President Obama is in reality a Kenyan born Manchurian Spy.
