Alright, it's time to close the books on the 2013 NFL preseason and get to the regular season. The Lions recently cut their roster down to 75 players, and now they are prepped to play their final preseason game. On Thursday, the Lions visit the Buffalo Bills, who have the world's greatest quarterbacking situation. It will not be terribly interesting.
The fourth preseason game will see starters play, at most, a series. This game is about nobody getting hurt and the players fighting for the final roster spots getting plenty of playing time to prove their mettle. Are you interested in who will be the final defensive tackle to make the Lions? Then this is the game for you! Otherwise, it is a game that doesn't count featuring a bunch of guys who won't have jobs in a week or so.
Although, having said that, the Bills might see their starting quarterback play a while. This is because their starting quarterback is Jeff Tuel. This is a true statement. Due to injuries to EJ Manuel and Kevin Kolb, they are left starting Tuel, who was sharing starting duties at Washington State this past college season. So, they may want to see him get a few more reps. Or, they may be so afraid of losing another quarterback to injury they don't consider it worth it. Either way, it'll be guys like Willie Young chasing him.
There isn't much to say about this game. The regular season is about a week away. Hopefully nothing goes awry for either team and that the book is closed on the preseason on a non-negative note. Get ready for the Kellen Moore Experience!
