Between Runaway, Kanye West's short movie featuring a mostly-naked-throughout-the-entire-film Selita Ebanks and a about a bajillion ballerinas, and Black Swan, it's inevitable that the women of the world are about to get hit with ballet fever.

With spring comes proper whispy-fabric weather, and I think we can fully expect to see the ballerina influence on the entire flock at fashion week in February. Look for straight skirts made from jersey, bamboo and silk sitting on the waist, and ribbons. Chances of lace-up shoes are medium to high. The fact that it will likely be about 27 degrees is unimportant and will be ignored. Ballerinas!

This isn't just any pirouet-sporting archetype, however... This one's got secrets. Similar to Natalie Portman's character in Black Swan, and the black-clad dancers in Runaway, these girls have edge. Be it a punk rock edge, a grungy edge or some neon pop - it's definitely not girly. Keep your girly frocks and pink everythings in roration, though - just allow for their innocence to be drained a touch by combining some rough, leather pieces. Studs also count.
