The Ankeny and Indianola girls basketball teams are off to 2-0 starts as each won their first two games of the season last week during the first full week of action around the state.
Other winners in the CIML included Waukee and Fort Dodge.
Ankeny 42, Waukee 41
Maddie Manning scored 18 points, pulled down five rebounds and collected five steals as the Hawks edged last year's state qualifier by one.
Also scoring in double figures for Ankeny was Maddie Muhlenbruck, who scored 10 points in the win.
Waukee (1-1) was led by Amy Nastingen's 11 points and four rebounds. Britney Boland added nine points and eight rebounds in the loss for the Warriors.
Ankeny 71, Ottumwa 39
Manning had 25 points and five assists in the Hawks' easy win, while Shayla Starkenburg pitched in 13 points and four rebounds. Madi Robson also collected nine points and three assists.
Ottumwa was led by Kelsey Nickerson's 13 points and Tara Gott's seven rebounds.
Waukee 84, Des Moines Roosevelt 25
Nastingen scored 19 points and had six rebounds, while Boland pitched in 14 points and six boards for the Warriors.
Also filling up the stat sheet was Megan Shryack, who had 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals. Laura Brewer collected nine points, dished out nine assists, pulled down six boards and had three steals.
Katy Wearmouth also had nine points and seven rebounds off the bench.
Fort Dodge 60, Des Moines Roosevelt 47
The Dodgers got 13 points, five rebounds and five steals from Mackenzie Alstott, while Rachel Evans also collected 16 points, six rebounds and three steals.
Abbie Crouse pulled down seven boards and delivered six assists in the win as well.
Indianola 63, Des Moines Lincoln 50
The Indians had just two turnovers in the game and scored 45 points in the second half to claim their first win of the season.
Erica Davidson led the way with 26 points and four assists, while Rachel Kaale added 10 points, eight boards, four assists and three steals in the win.
Ally Orwig scored 11 points, pulled down eight boards and delivered five helpers as well.
Indianola 46, Norwalk 40
Kaale led Indianola to its second win with 13 points, eight rebounds and four steals, while Davidson scored 10 points and had five rebounds.
Orwig pitched in eight points and eight rebounds.
-- Ankeny, Indianola, Southeast Polk, Des Moines East and Ames have all begun the season 2-0, while Fort Dodge is 1-0. Waukee is 1-1 after its one-point loss to Ankeny.
Cedar Rapids Xavier and Newton are both 3-0 in Class 4A as well. Iowa City West , Bettendorf, Pleasant Valley and Sioux City North have also began the season 2-0.
