Preorders open for new Bungie title

On 17 February 2013 Bungie announced they will be putting Halo aside for a formerly mysterious project, Destiny. Bungie revealed more information on the title in a Livestream this morning, and players can begin pre-ordering the game at certain retailers.
Retailers GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon have skus on their sites where players can pre-order the title, which conflicting information regarding the date of release. Amazon lists the release date for the game in December, while GameStop doesn’t have a date listed on their website. A call to a retail location for the company returns an estimated January 2014 release.
Bungie has not confirmed either of these release windows and, as stated in GameStop’s case, these may be placeholder dates. These dates are possibly just being used in order to allow pre-orders of the game, but hopefully we hear more soon. Nobody knows what console it will be on, either, but we will update as soon as possible.
