It was an evening of salsa music to shine once again with salsa performers and winners at the 2014 "Premio Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina" (Lo Nuestro Latin Music Award). This year's winners were announced last night during a 3-hour live gala broadcast on Univision at the American Airline Arena in Downtown Miami, Fla.

It was salsa singer Marc Anthony who reigned as the top award winner taking four of the five awards and this year's recipient of "Premio Lo Nuestro" Excellence Awards. Followed by the late diva of Mexican music Jenni Rivera, regional Mexican singer and songwriter Gerardo Ortiz, and bachata singer Prince Royce with three awards each. Many of the winners expressed their thoughts on Venezuela's current situation.

"Premio Lo Nuestro" has recognized excellence in five music genres Pop, Tropical, Regional Mexican, Rock/Alternative and Urbanb for 26 years. The awards are held yearly in acknowledgement of the artists that receive the most radio airplay during the eligibility period and the winners are determined by popular vote from fans.
