After teasing a new single throughout Thursday, pop singer Justin Timberlake finally premiered his track entitled "TKO." Like the song's title, "TKO" is an aggressive R&B number where he sings about being blindsided by the woman of his eye.
"TKO" (an acronym for "Total Knockout") follows the Michael Jackson-esque "Take Back the Night." Both tracks are featured on part "2 of 2" of Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience" album. He rocked a vintage sound on "Take Back the Night" but now "TKO" is more of a contemporary R&B production. "TKO, I'm out for the count / Yeah girl, you knocked me out," he sings as a defeated man. A broken heart has Timberlake down and out. Consider it "Cry Me a River" with an edge.
Timberlake returned earlier this year with "The 20/20 Experience" and the album hit no. 1 on Billboard upon release. It has sold over two million copies in the U.S. so far. Part "2 of 2" will be released on September 30 with 11 more brand new songs.
