There's Premiere League 2013 live stream and TV games on Saturday, Sept. 21 for United States fans to enjoy as the soccer (football) schedule continues. Among the matchups will be Norwich City vs. Aston Villa as both clubs look to try to climb up the standings with a victory. The latest Premiere League matchup will be live streamed online and televised thanks to NBC Sports Networks.
A Sept 20 report via The Independent indicates that this game could feature the first start for Gary Hooper who had been injured for most of the season. It's reported that Norwich City might go with a 4-4-2 formation to help bring about his return to the field, with Ricky van Wolfswinkel also on the front line. Elliott Bennett (knee surgery), James Okore (ligament injury), Charles N'Zogbia (long-term injury) are among those expected to be out of the game for Villa, while Ciaran Clark and Nathan Baker could see playing time. There's no significant injuries listed in the reports for Norwich this Saturday.
While both of these teams come into this matchup looking poor so far this season, Aston Villa can at least claim one thing; their team has the top goal scorer in the league so far with Christian Benteke who has 18 goals. Unfortunately, they also have yet to hold the lead in any game they've played this season so far. On Saturday, both teams desperately need to get a win and start piling on more victories, but the telling stat that five of their ten past matchups have resulted in draws could hinder that. Aston Villa is a small favorite in this matchup at -125.
Norwich City has just one victory on their season so far, back on Aug. 31 against Southampton 1-0. Otherwise, they've piled up two losses including one last weekend against Tottenham Hotspur, and a draw against Everton in their opening game on Aug. 17. Norwich has won just once in the past 11 meetings against Aston Villa. They've lost five and tied five times in the other 10 meetings.
Aston Villa has been one of several teams with 3 losses so far this season and are barely hanging on at the bottom of the standings. They've also managed to get just one win in four games when they defeated Arsenal in a shocker for their opening game 3-1 on Aug. 17. To their advantage as mentioned is the amount of times they've defeated Norwich in their past eleven meetings, as well as the fact they boast the league's top scorer.
In terms of winning the 2013-14 Premier League, neither team is expected to have much of a shot. Aston Villa is a 2000 to 1 longshot, while Norwich is at 4000 to 1 to win it all. Manchester City and Chelsea continue to lead the contenders at 7 to 2.
Saturday's Norwich City vs. Aston Villa game has a start time of 7:45 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. This Premier League game will be televised on cable or satellite through the NBC Sports Network. In addition, most fans can watch the game live streaming online over at the NBC Sports Live Extra website starting at 7:45 a.m. EST.
