As Record Store Day inches closer and closer, there is more talk about what will be released during the April 19 worldwide event.

Wax Poetic has a projected list of releases that will be coming out for the seventh annual Record Store Day, and there are already some pretty heavy hitters associated this year. New Jersey native son Bruce Springsteen will be putting out an EP of four unreleased songs called ‘American Beauty.’ World renowned pop-punk band Green Day will be releasing ‘Demolicious,’ a two LP set of demos and unreleased tracks from the ‘Uno,’ ‘Dos,’ ‘Tres’ sessions.

A few of the other notable releases will include a live release from Devo of a show at Max’s Kansas City in 1977, a rerelease of a Ramones EP called ‘Meltdown with the Ramones’ that was never released in the U.S., a ten year anniversary edition of Set Your Goals’ ‘Reset’ demo, a tribute to the Violent Femmes by female fronted bands, a tribute to Nirvana’s ‘In Utero,’ a reissue of Nirvana’s “Penny Royal Tea” single, and a Sex Pistols ‘Never Mind the Bollocks’ 35th anniversary box set.

Record Store Day was started in 2008 to celebrate independent record stores. According to the Record Store Day about us page, “this is a day for the people who make up the world of the record store—the staff, the customers, and the artists—to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store and the special role these independently owned stores play in their communities.” For the occasion, artists release exclusive vinyl albums and CDs. Some stores also have special live performances, guaranteeing a full day of music and celebration.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Chuck D of Public Enemy would be Record Store Day’s ambassador for 2014.

A full list of projected releases can be found on Wax Poetic. Record Store Day 2014 will take place on April 19. For more information on Record Store Day, visit the event’s website.
