On Nov. 8, 2009, a scientific experiment conducted in Vancouver, B.C., under the guidance of Dr. Sheldon Lewkis, R.Psych, showed notable results about how intentions, prayers, and positive thoughts can affect brain waves. The experiment was held in conjunction with a healing workshop led by Adam Dreamhealer, a graduate student of naturopathic medicine who blends science and alternative healing. Seven hundred people at the workshop, plus an additional ten thousand around the world who signed up via the Internet, participated at a synchronized time by sending positive intentions and specific visualizations as directed by Adam.
Adam instructed participants to focus their intentions on an unknown person who was in a room away from all participants and unaware of when the experiment would begin. At the designated time, he then revealed the unknown person's face at the workshop and on his website and referred to her as "Christine." Before, during, and after the ten-minute study, Christine remained hooked up to an EEG in order to continually monitor her brain waves.

Two of the results are shown in the illustrations to the side and below. The graph to the right clearly shows the changes, measured in Hertz, of brain waves before the experiment as opposed to during the experiment. The graph below shows the differences in brain coherence occuring during the same time frame.

All of the data is currently undergoing evaluation by two other scientists, and the researchers are considering writing a report to be submitted to a peer reviewed scientific journal. Adam plans to do similar experiments in the future.
