A pregnant, glowing, tanned and healthy-looking Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, visited the South London Hope House rehab center, The Huffington Post U.K. reported on Tuesday, Feb. 19. The Duchess was there to speak to women recovering from addictions.
Middleton greeted the Action for Addiction chief executive Nick Barton, standing with her hands clasped under the royal baby bump. Her clasped hands also showed off the world’s most famous engagement ring, a sapphire surrounded by diamonds. Prince William slipped the ring on Kate Middleton’s finger while on private trip to Kenya in 2010. The sapphire ring was the same one with which his father, Charles, Prince of Wales, proposed to Lady Diana Spencer in 1981.
“Nice to see you again, nice to be back,” the Duchess said, looking up at the sky and commenting, “It’s a lovely day for it.”
The Duchess, who is due in July, looked “happy and healthy” during her visit at Hope House, a residential treatment center run by Action for Addiction in Clapham. The Duchess of Cambridge, 31, wore a grey belted MaxMara dress, which showed off the first signs of her barely there royal baby bump.
Kate Middleton, a patron of Hope House and the Action for Addiction charity, spent the morning meeting women who are recovering from addiction and rebuilding their lives. The visit was the Duchess of Cambridge’s first official engagement of the year.
As Kate chatted with women in an art therapy class, she told one of them, “Well done for getting sober.”
Action for Addiction’s Nick Barton, described the Duchess as an “intelligent” woman genuinely interested in the work of the Action on Addiction organization.
The Duke and Duchess recently returned from a vacation on the private of Mustique where Kate was photographed in a blue bikini walking along the beach. An Italian magazine intends to publish the photographs of the pregnant Duchess.
