At times, the atrocities against dogs seem to be never-ending...thankfully, compassionate people do exist and because of their efforts, some of the horrific wrongs are sometimes righted.
Last week, Lanie, a pregnant pit bull, was cast away by someone like unwanted trash. The beautiful dog was discovered alongside a road, tied up inside of a feed bag.
Lanie was taken to the San Bernardino City Shelter in Calif., where her fate was still uncertain. Fortunately, as word spread about Lanie's tragic circumstances prior to being impounded at the facility, help was found.
On Valentine's Day, Lanie was pulled from the animal control by Freedom Ranch and Rescue.
The rescue agency noted that she looked "sad and broken," but they have vowed to do their utmost to undo the hurt that she has experienced.
Lanie may have been someone's throw-away, but that is now a thing of the past. Click here to follow Lanie as she embarks on her new life with her rescuers.
