Pregnant lacrosse coach, Kristina Quigley, 30, has died in a bus crash that took place on Saturday, when the team’s bus hit a tree in Southern Pennsylvania, CNN reported on Mar. 17.
According to the report, Kristina Quigley, who was six months pregnant with a boy, died from injuries at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. "Her unborn child did not survive," the county agency said.
The bus driver, Anthony Guaetta, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Three people were reportedly transported to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center with serious injuries. Others received care for minor injuries, and were transported to Carlisle Regional Medical Center, and Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill.
The pregnant coach was in her second year at Seton Hill, which is a Catholic University outside Pittsburgh. Kristina Quigley leaves behind a husband, and young son.
“The Seton Hill community is mourning the loss of Kristina Quigley and her unborn son,” a statement from the university read.. “The University extends deepest sympathy to Quigley’s husband and family.”
