Pregnant Alyssa Milano craves broccoli, unconcerned about weight gain

Ex-Charmed star Alyssa Milano, who recently announced she's pregnant with her first child via Twitter, is craving lots of broccoli and isn't worried about pregnancy weight gain.

“I’m not as body-conscious or concerned with the way I look,” Milano, 38, told People. “It’s more about what’s going to be comfortable versus what looks flattering. It’s a whole different world that I’m enjoying a lot.”

Happy to Be Out of the First Trimester

Alyssa, who has a healthy baby bump now that she's in her second trimester, is super-excited about having a child with husband Dave Bugliari, 32.

“I feel really good,” says the 5'2" Milano. “I’m not sleeping great because of the many trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. So, I don’t know. I feel good, but if there’s a time I feel like I need to slow down, I will.”

Alyssa, a fitness fanatic who used to run 3 miles a day, took spinning classes, did yoga and weight-trained, is glad to be done with her first trimester.

“I was very happy to be out of my first trimester,” she says. “I think that’s the scariest time because you always have it in the back of your head that you could miscarry at any point. I would say that was my scariest time.”

'I Can't Get Enough Broccoli'

While some pregnant women crave sweets, fatty carbohydrates or steak, Milano can't stop eating broccoli.

“I can’t even consider it a craving because it’s so odd,” she said. “But I can’t get enough broccoli!”

Meanwhile, Milano is spending lots of time with her mom. “As soon as I got pregnant I just didn’t want to leave my mother’s side,” she says. 

“The amount of time I’ve spent with my parents since I’ve been pregnant is a lot. I think it’s because I want to soak up their brains.”
