As Christmas is officially over and after-Christmas sales in full swing, people are already beginning to look forward to the next year. With that, "predictions for 2014" has been trending across social media sites and numerous search engines on Dec. 26, 2013, for just about everything and anything from weather to sports to the possible end of the world.
Everyone wants something to look forward to, and predictions for 2014 are really starting to make the rounds to see what people believe will happen. While there is no guarantee as to what is to come, it's still fun to try and guess.

~ The NFL will announce that a team is actually heading west and Los Angeles will finally be a football city once again.
~ United Airlines (the merger of American Airlines and US Airways) will reign supreme over the travel industry. While it will still take time for all resources to be combined, the "Super Airline" is going to bring about big changes and great things for the traveler.
~ The Farmer's Almanac predicts that the winter of 2014 will bring below average temperatures for about two-thirds of the nation. Only the Far West and Southeast will have a semblance of winter temperatures near normal, but it will still be colder than usual.
Back in mid-December, a psychic predicted the very same thing for parts of California and it appears to be coming true.
~ Venture Capital (VC) firms will raise more money in 2014 alone than they have since 2007.

~ Tiger Woods will fail to win even one major golf tournament. He will still finish the year as the highest earner in sports and first in the world golf rankings.
~ Bitcoins will continue to prove that they are simply a commodity or phase and won't actually become a source of currency.
~ An Amazon series (such as "House of Cards) will net an Emmy nomination and has a very good chance of winning.
