According to TSN, the Nashville Predators have traded Calgary-raised goaltender Devan Dubnyk to the Montreal Canadiens or future considerations on Wednesday.

This will be Dubnyk's third team he has played for so far this season, as he has also played with the Edmonton Oilers. In 2013-14 he has a record of 11-18-3, a 3.43 goals against average, a .891 save percentage and two shutouts.

The Canadiens were in need of a goaltender to back up Peter Budaj with Carey Price on the injury reserve with a lower body ailment.

Predators head coach Barry Trotz was not impressed with Dubnyk, who was acquired by Nashville from Edmonton for Matt Hendricks on January 15. Trotz went on the record saying he learned some "bad habits" while with his time in Edmonton, and needed to work significantly with goaltending coach Mitch Korn.

The Canadiens will be playing the Phoenix Coyotes in Arizona on Thursday. Montreal also made a blockbuster deal with the New York Islanders on Wednesday, as they acquired sniper Tomas Vanek.

Vanek now becomes the Canadiens' leading scorer with 53 points.
