A call to police to check the welfare of a man in a parked car on January 16, 2013, resulted in a Precinct 4 deputy constable arresting the man for possessing illegal prescription narcotics and for having counterfeit U.S. Currency in his possession.
The 911 call came in at approximately 8 a.m. and the caller told the operator that a car was parked outside the residence and had been running for a long time. That caller also relayed that the male driver appeared to be sleeping inside the car. The location of the suspicious vehicle was in the 100 block of W. 12th Street in Kemp, Texas.
The deputy constable approached the vehicle and woke up the driver. The deputy noticed that there were pills on the center console of the vehicle, and then ascertained that the suspect did not have any medical issues. After receiving permission from the suspect to search his vehicle, the deputy located a pill bottle that contained “several more white pills inside the center console, with no prescription identification.” The deputy also found a small amount of counterfeit U.S. Currency in the console.
The suspect, Carroll Wayne Corker, 29, of Kemp was arrested and charged with Possession of a dangerous drug and Forgery government money. He also had an outstanding warrant from the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office as well. The deputy constable transported Corker to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center, where he remains.
