Preachers of LA is a bona fide hit. Not only are people flocking to Amazon to watch the first full episode titled "Comeback" for free, Oxygen has released the news just 13 short hours ago (in a post published on Thursday, October 10, 2013) that the show has broken all kinds of viewership levels as a reality TV show.
No wonder people were blowing up Twitter with the #PreachersofLA hashtag during and after the new series, which takes a peek into the lives of several prominent pastors.
Oxygen's article states that 1.1 million viewers tuned in to watch the show, with more than half a million people falling into the 18-year-old to 49-year-old age range. They note that it was Oxygen’s “strongest Wednesday season premiere ever according to Nielsen.”
Apparently females from ages 25 to 54 are the main ones driving the network’s second highest rated series premiere in network history, because nearly 500,000 of us, that’s 426,000, are the ones that accounted for the main viewership.
Christians and non-believers alike no doubt drove that 10pm hour success for Oxygen, which ranked as the #5 cable network among our female age group, and gave the network record-breaking success.
When the network made the video on demand version of the show available, it received 180,000 full episode viewings. Good thing Amazon is still offering the full show video online for folks who haven’t yet caught the show to watch for free.
