Although the viewership numbers aren’t yet in for last night’s October 23rd show, Deitrick Haddon has proclaimed that the initial premiere episode received more like 3 million views instead of the 1.1 million viewership earlier reported – that’s when you add things like video-on-demand viewership and perhaps online streaming views. He spelled that out in a very respectful radio interview wherein Haddon replied to Bishop TD Jakes’ video calling POLA “junk” and rebuking the docuseries.
In last night’s episode, one segment focused on Myesha Chaney, Pastor Wayne Chaney’s wife, and her creation of a First Lady tea party, which featured plenty of big hats and talk about who’s really a preachers' lady and who isn’t.
First Lady LaVette Gibson and First Lady Dominique Haddon were all good, because Dominique was at least a fiancée at the time being. And now she’s a wifey. (See Deitrick’s sneak peek video of them getting married in the backyard, after all that talk about wanting a big and elegant wedding.)
The confusion arose around Bishop Noel Jones’ girlfriend-good friend-whatever Loretta, and I love the way Lady Gibson told her in a mothering way a la Proverbs 31, “Your merchandise is good.”
