Praise Richmond announced on Aug. 15, that "Preachers of L.A." will return to television for a second season. Six mega-pastors in California are the same ones who were on the series during its first season. These pastors are Bishop Noel Jones, Minister Deitrick Haddon, Bishop Clarence McClendon, Pastor Jay Haizlip, Pastor Wayne Chaney, and Bishop Ron Gibson. They are all set to move forward with season two of their television show on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 10 p.m. ET on Oxygen.
Viewers and fans of the series can catch up on what has been going on with the pastors since the first season ended. A source reports that the first season of the hit show had church people talking about the popular series whose executive producer is Deitrick Haddon. People were critical about preachers airing their dirty laundry on television. They debated whether this was good or bad for Christianity.
During this upcoming season, fans of the show can expect to see a deeper look into the human side of the popular ministers, their wives, children, their churches and the issues they struggle with. Season two will follow the same six preachers that were on the first season.
People will learn much more about these pastors than the ever could by just seeing them or listening to them in the pulpit. When the premiere season ended, a lot of things left views wondering what happened. Fans have their favorites things to see more of. For instance, viewers want to know about Bishop Jones' sessions with his therapist as well as his relationship with his lady friend, Loretta.
In addition to the show returning, Oxygen will also air four “Preachers of L.A.” after-show specials beginning Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 11 p.m. ET. Hosted by network personality Susie Castillo and relationship expert Paul Brunson, the cast will open up some of the most talked-about controversial topics. Fans will have the opportunity to ask the preachers questions via Twitter or Instagram video throughout season two and throughout the after-shows. The preachers will answer as many of these questions as possible during the after-show specials.
