According to motives learned by authorities, the two girls were trying to appease a mythological creature. Washington Post reports June 1 that the assailants will be charged as adults for attempted homicide and will face up to 60 years in prison if convicted.

The violent stabbing of the 12-year-old happened in Waukesha. Both girls admitted to planning the attack for months. They lured their victim to a park Saturday after a slumber party and intended to murder her.

Bail for the pre-teens who stabbed their friend 19 times are held on $500,000 bail each.

The demon-like mythological creature the girls wanted please was something they discovered on creepypasta.wikia.com, which is a site dedicated to horror stories. They wanted to be "proxies" of Slender Man and "run away to the demon’s forest mansion after the slaying," they told detectives.

As of Monday, the victim is in stable condition. A major artery near her heart was missed by just millimeters, doctors say.

According Huffington Post, a passing bicyclist noticed 12-year-old victim after she crawled out of the woods. She suffered stabs to arms, legs, and torso. One of the girls held her down while the other stabbed her.

This story about pre-teens attempting murder on their friend by stabbing her 19 times is still developing.
