James McCartney, son of former Beatle Paul McCartney, is releasing his debut EP, "Available Light," on Sept. 21 on Engine Company Records. The EP is co-produced by Paul McCartney and David Kahne, who also worked on McCartney's "Driving Rain" album.
Pre-orders for the EP are available on iTunes starting today and on Amazon.com.
The five songs on the EP are "Angel," "Glisten," "My Friend," "Denial" and "Old Man" (a cover of the Neil Young song).
Engine Company Records is a small label based in New York run by artist Blake Morgan. Morgan has released several CDs on his own, including one that includes a cover of "Maybe I'm Amazed." The label was also responsible for a comeback CD by Lesley Gore called "Ever Since."
The official video trailer can be seen below. The digital booklet can be seen here.

I'll guess I'll get it if it ever comes out on CD, if I'm still interested by then.
NO CD ???????????????
Maybe I'm blind, but WHERE is the "official video trailer"?
You're not. For some reason, it didn't show up last night. I've added it back in again. Hopefully, this time. Thanks for letting me know.

Yeah, but he's got a built-in fan base he could tap in to. I think a lot of Beatles/Paul fans would give him a listen, but, generally speaking, they're not the kind of fan who wants to just get the mp3s.
The kids who buy mp3s are not interested in James McCartney unless he gets some major exposure, which I don't think he'll get.
It's like by the time the newno2 disc came out, 6 months, a year(?) after the release of the songs, it was a little hard to play it for anybody and talk it up. And I thought that disc was damn good. I really enjoyed it.
It's hard to make it in the music industry. You gave to use any advantage you got.
Well, does someone want to speculate on the inclusion of Neil Young's "Old Man" ?
Am I allowed to say I enjoyed the preview more than anything his Dad has done lately?
Got something to say?
