Pre-order John Densmore's new book The Doors Unhinged

Doors drummer John Densmore is slowly releasing information about his forthcoming book The Doors Unhinged: Jim Morrison’s Legacy on Trial (being released April 17, 2013). Densmore has recently posted on his Facebook page the back cover of the book that includes blurbs by famous rockers such Eddie Vedder, Tom Waits, Tom Petty, Randy Newman, and writers such as Tom Robbins, and Michael Connelly. One of the more interesting blurbs is from Pearl “Penny” Courson who was of course Pam Courson’s mother and Jim Morrison’s common-law mother-in-law. The book cover is pictured above and you can see the released venues for his spring book tour by following the hyperlink. You can pre-order the The Doors Unhinged: Jim Morrison’s Legacy on Trial at Amazon.

The scene, The Warehouse, a concert venue in New Orleans. The Date, December 12, 1970 it would be the show that turned out to be The Doors last show with Jim Morrison. The clip at left (lower left), Jim Morrison’s Last Night on Stage, is a twelve minute excerpt from the documentary A Warehouse on Tchoupitoulas, see what fans who attended the concert have to say about seeing Jim Morrison's spirit leaving his body. The documentary was seeking Kickstarter funding in June of 2011 and they made their goal of $20,000 (and then some). I’ve been looking around the web to see if I can find it, but the whole thing doesn’t seem to have been released as of yet. There is still a blog for raising funds for the documentary, and a site that has reopened the Warehouse (in a new location) and hosts concerts and an art gallery more information is available at the Old Warehouse.
