This weekend is full of interesting events and fantastic music. Come out and enjoy the last party weekend before the holidays! There is a show here for everyone, from dance parties to bar rock to indie pop.
Thursday December 17
Beauty Bar Vodka Launch Party
Beauty Bar is releasing it's own brand of vodka and having a party to celebrate it. Just look at the amount of text on that poster! It's pink and it's girly, and it's sure to be a killer party. A dollar of every BB Vodka drink sold in 2010 (as well as at this party, I assume) goes to benefit Bright Pink. Drink for charity!
Friday December 18
The Saggi Ball
Another event with a lot going on, check out the poster. Great music, the Trevor Ray photobooth, an ugly sweater contest, and it's all to benefit Toys for Tots. Complimentary drinks with a toy donation helps too! More drinking, more charity.
Givers with The Lemurs and The Laughing
GIVERS consists of several musicians from various improvisational groups all centered in southwestern Louisiana who have combined to form one cohesive music making body, creating what they refer to as afro-beat, dancy pants, indie pop love music. Joined by two well-known Austin bands, The Lemurs and The Laughing, this will be a great show! Plus you'll be able to check out the brand new Parish. They've gone through some changes the past couple months and are boasting some cool upgrades.
Saturday December 19
Whitman with The White White Lights and Colour Wheel
These are three of my favorite local bands at one of my favorite venues. All three bands are high energy, engaging, and have fantastic music. Plus, it's Whitman's 7 inch release party so there is the potential for flying vinyl.
