It goes without saying that Christians believe that prayer is important.  For that matter, that statement could easily be extended to include a lot of other people, Christian or not.  Recent studies have shown that a lot of people pray.

Jesus, when speaking about the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, said, "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations."  While a church building cannot be equated to the Temple of Israel, clearly Jesus expects his followers to be a praying people.

A lot of churches in Tulsa take prayer ministry seriously.  I just want to highlight one.  Asbury Methodist Church seems to be making an effort to have an effective prayer ministry.  If you are looking for ideas for your own prayer ministry Asbury may be able to help.  Check out their web site.  If your church has a web presence that tells us something about their prayer ministry be sure and let us know about it in the comments section.
