Gospel for Asia (http://www.gfa.org), a Christian organization called to "reach out to the most unreached" in the remote parts of South Asia experienced a terrific Cyclone ("Cyclone Phailin) leaving more than 500,000 people homeless, in the dark, in refugee camps. More than 15 people are reported dead; many are suffering physically and mentally from the terrible losses sustained - including "1 million acres of crops across the Indian states of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh."
Many will be without power for more than 20 days; the potential for widespread disease is possible due to a lack of clean water and overcrowding. Many believers in Christ have tremendous loss of homes and livelihood - while also praying for their neighbors to know to Jesus Christ in their suffering.
Much prayer is needed. Prayer for each person that through their suffering they will come to know the Lord Jesus who gives us life eternal through His blood shed on the Cross and abundant life. He alone can heal and rebuild lives. Prayer for Gospel for Asia and the compassion teams that are going out to access the damage and help people. Prayer for all of the field correspondents - much prayer for encouragement and healing during their time of grief. Pray for economic recovery - homes rebuilt and aid to come safely directly to the people that need it. Prayer for the government that they will help the people rebuild, power restored, and more humanitarian help - financial support to help this nation of beautiful people.
We need you. Go to the website and pray what you can give to support this ministry and the people in this area. Let us in spite of our own challenges, remember that God is all our supply in Christ Jesus and help. He will help us. He will help the peoples who have suffered so much.
