I am saddened today by the increasing violence that is permeating in our Nation. The events of the shooting at the Naval yard in Washington is so shocking; yet so familiar as we as a nation once again, are grappling with dire finality of lost lives due to a person's decision to instill fear and to terrorize. Today, I am calling us all who are believers in Jesus Christ to pray for Our nation, our leaders, our president and especially for the families who lost loved ones; and the personnel who experienced the event. Violence friends is an evil spirit that needs to be bound in Jesus Powerful name!
If you look at reports, these types of events are increasing. I saw a graph in the Hartford Courant (http://www.courant.com/) today about the number shootings over the last several years, with 2009 being a deadly year and of course, the tragedy of Newtown, CT of children being shot in 2012 a most heinous crime that we have seen in our times Saints of God, we must pray to God for intervention. The dark forces of this world as Jesus told us in the Holy Scriptures (You can read The Book of Matthew, Chapters 24-26 to hear our Savior's warning of the last days) is happening. We must be ready. I am getting ready and praying for readiness. Jesus is coming to get His people and redeem His people from this earth (this is called The Rapture, when millions will be taken to Heaven at any given moment. The world will not be able to explain it. But you can read about in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, http://biblehub.com/1_thessalonians/4-17.htm (this is verse 17, but you will see the entire text mentioned here by following this link). Indeed, the Day is at hand as we see the signs of the times, the disasters, the floods, fires and increasing violence.
Violence is not only increasing in our communities, but it increasing in our families, workplaces and even on church grounds (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/24/megachurch-gunman-opens-fire-creflo-dollars-georgia-church_n_2009611.html. As believers in Jesus Christ, we are called to be intercessors, to pray for our leaders so "we can lead peaceable lives". We must call upon God to stop the evil of violence in our country; pray for our President and leaders to mandate stricter gun control laws; pray for children; watch over hearts, ears and eyes by not watching or indulging in television programming that promotes violence and desensitizes persons with thoughts that "this is normal" and we must pray for God help to "support us on every leaning side."
Today, I pray. I pray for those in mourning. I weep with those who weep. I pray for the innocent. I pray for every person who was walked out of the facilities during the time of the shooting. Pray for protection and safety in Jesus name. Pray for peace of mind in the hearts of men. Pray that people will see their need for a Savior, who is Christ, The Lord and The very Son of God. Pray for souls that they will be saved. I need a Savior. I need eternal life - that eternal life is in Jesus Christ.
Pray with me today and every day. The Almighty God speaks from His Holy Word, The Bible: "Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land", 2 Chronicles 7:14, The Holy Bible.
