Bright Blessings.

Tomorrow The Minds Eye Books and Wellness Center in Mt. Clemens will serve as host to a Pranic Healing Clinic and Meditation at 7:15 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.. Located just a two minute walk from Gemini Moon, and on the same side of the street, this little shop may already be on the radar of most of the wonderful readers of this humble inkslinger's column. However, keep in mind that this shop, while Pagan friendly in scope of materials, is not focused on the magick user. It is more focused on the holistic spectrum, hence being a logical location for a gathering of this sort.

Pranic Healing, for those who may be new to the terms, is a form of energy medicine that was created and developed by GrandMaster Choa Kok Sui. While the predominant energy work of widespread use in the Southeastern Michigan Pagan Community seems to be dominated by Reiki, this is another school that is also in wide usage without much fanfare.

Prana is the Sanskrit word for life force. The life force is that which not only animates us, but allows us to channel and flow with the energies around us. It is similar to the energy that many light workers call by other names. In martial arts, this can also be understood as Chi.

It is one of those little quirks about living here, that continues to be true, that the New Age, Pagan, Shamanic, and Holistic communities seem to not crossover a lot. Because of this, it is very likely that many reading this may not be familiar with Pranic Healing.

Something worthy of note on this system is that

"In common with Reiki, Pranic Healing is one of the few complementary therapies that have been validated through laboratory studies"

The event held tomorrow will focus on the Twin Heart Meditation in a "Planetary Meditation for Peace". In this practice, participants will be dealing with the "heart chakra, which in this system mirrors others insofar as it is seen as the center of the emotional heart, and the crown chakra, known as the center of the divine heart. The goal is to channel love and kindness through the working with these chakras.

Manipulating the energy field of the body, the work is done on this level. No physical contact is required. And after the meditation, a free healing session will ensue. A love offering would be kind, however do not let the lack of this dissuade you, as it is an offer freely given.

The Mind's Eye is located at 81 Macomb Place. As always, it is recommended to leave a little early in order to arrive on time. Having been there before, it is no exaggeration that finding the street can be.....challenging.

If you would like to find an excellent education in the chakras, then you may wish to spend some time with local Enafae Moore. Beloved and wise teacher, she is a favorite presenter in and around Michigan. She presented at ConVocation this year.
