Psalm 103:1-2 (NLT)
Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
Praise the Lord. Just praise the Lord! That’s it. Nothing more and nothing less. Can you do it? Can you make your whole heart praise Him? Even the parts that are broken, scarred or given away to other things? I will praise His Holy Name. I WILL PRAISE His Holy Name. Let all that I am praise the Lord. All of me. Everything. I am determined to praise His Name with every facet of my being mind, body and soul. May I never forget the good things that He does for me – not a single one even when it is not how I planned or what I thought I wanted or later than I decided it should come. Last night, I had a dream. I believe that the Lord can speak to us in our dreams. So can the enemy and pizza for that matter so it requires some discernment to recognize His Presence and His Voice in our dreams. It has been a difficult week. The enemy has managed to attack from every feasible direction. As I fell into bed each night, it was with profound relief that I made it. How can I make it to the Promise when I can barely make it through the day, Lord? In the midst of my slumber, I could hear the song “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)” by Matt Redman playing in the background of a worship service I was attending in this dream. The people around me were a blur so much so I could not even tell what church I was in when all of a sudden I fell to my knees face down in worship overtaken by the Presence of the Lord. Peace flooded my heart and mind even as I slept and when I woke up – it remained. Although our family has been going through a great trial these last few weeks, the Lord managed to break through the darkness and remind me that He is so worthy of my praise. So today in these few moments, I want to encourage you to praise the Lord.
Psalm 103:3-4 (NLT)
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
Sin and disease were once divinely connected as the human body deteriorated as a direct result to the sin that consumed us. (Psalm 32:2-5) But by the Grace and Tender Mercy of God, this is no longer the case. Jesus Christ has made a way for every disease to be healed by His Name alone. I am redeemed from death so no matter what the outcome of this life I have confident hope. He crowns me with love that carries me always from death to life and glory to glory. Those mercies are new and fresh every morning for my retrieval and constant consumption. (Lamentations 3:22-23) He forgives all my sins. All I must do is confess them and He immediately wipes them away. (1 John 1:9) They are removed as far as the east is from the west. The Lord is ready to heal me from the inside out. (Isaiah 38:20) Jesus made it possible for by His Stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5) I will praise the Lord! But wait there is more…
Psalm 103:5 (NLT)
He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
God’s Goodness is mine to enjoy. His Strength is mine to use. He fills my life with good things. God’s Goodness is available to me right now. I do not have to wait to step into Eternity to enjoy it but I look for it right now. I have confidence that it is mine today so I will wait for it and not settle for anything less than God’s Best. In fact, I will praise Him for it now because I am sure that the Lord will deliver all that He promised. (Psalm 27:13-14) It is for now. I walk in blessing all the days of my life because that has been God’s Plan all along. (Jeremiah 29:11) It is a good plan with a future and hope. His Hand of Blessing is on my head and everywhere I go – He is with me. (Psalm 139:5) I must only strive to walk in His Ways and follow Jesus to have everything that I have been promised and blessings that I have not even thought about. Every good and perfect gift in my life is from the Father. (James 1:17) So even when I am waiting on the next promise, I have so many wonderful things to praise God for already because I am blessed. His Goodness is following me all the days of my life just waiting to overtake me. (Psalm 23:6) He is the Lover of my soul who pursues me as one would court their beloved just waiting to live as one. His Goodness is mine today.
God’s Strength is mine when I need it the most. In my weakness, I am stronger than ever because His Power takes over. (2 Corinthians 12:10) I can take pleasure when I come to the end of myself because now I can be renewed. “Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31) I have been weak, tired and exhausted over the last few weeks to the point of almost giving up, but then the Lord came and renewed my strength. Trust in the Lord is the only thing that will ever allow you to experience His Strength. I had this thought recently that there is a profound difference between sitting down and falling down. If I sit down, I surrender my strength and give up to preserve what little human ability I have left. But when I go all out until I fall down, then His Strength and Power overtake me and I am renewed as He promises here. I don’t want to sit down. I will not give up. I will put all my faith and trust in Jesus Christ. I want His Strength! I will praise the Lord! But wait there is more…
Psalm 103:8-12 (NLT)
The LORD is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.
God has compassion for me. He is not mad at me but loves me unconditionally. He is not accusing me but the Holy Spirit may be convicting me so I will change directions and step into the Lord’s Presence. This is a good thing. This is a God thing. The punishment for every sin that you and I have ever committed or will ever commit was taken by Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:10) It is finished. Divine discipline is God teaching us how to have all that He promised. It has nothing to do with punishment. You do not deserve the bad things that come into your life. The Lord is working to make every detail good in your life past, present and future. (Romans 8:28) Don’t let the lie of the enemy convince you that God is mad at you because you messed up or you deserve the hardship in your life because that is false. His Unfailing Love for you and the Blood of Jesus Christ identifies you as a Child of God without sin. “So the LORD must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.” (Isaiah 30:18) What are you waiting for? The Lord is waiting for you to run back into His Waiting Arms opened by Great Love for you. There is no condemnation only compassion. Praise the Lord! But wait there is more…
Psalm 103:13-18 (NLT)
The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone—as though we had never been here. But the love of the LORD remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!
God is a good dad! My earthly father is human and has made many mistakes. I am his daughter born of the same imperfect flesh which means I, too, have made many mistakes with my own kids. No matter how hard I have tried, I cannot keep my imperfections from affecting them. But my hope is that they will put all of their love, trust and expectation in the Lord who is a good father. His Unconditional Love and Perfection will meet their every need and fulfill desire. This life is short. Too short to spend all of our time putting our faith and hope in other people and things. We must strive to develop and maintain a good relationship with our Father in Heaven who makes us righteous. Our inheritance is in Him alone. Nothing attained in this world will last forever. Everything here outside faith is temporary. Only the things of God – faith, hope and love will last forever. Stop worrying about temporary things and secure your inheritance as a Child of God. I will obey His Commands because God is a good dad and I trust Him. I will walk in His Ways because He is always leading me closer to Him. My love will be evident in the way I live! I will praise the Lord! But wait there is more…
Psalm 103:19-22 (NLT)
The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. Praise the LORD, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! Praise the LORD, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. Let all that I am praise the LORD.
Nothing is impossible for God! Everything is under the Lord’s Power and Authority. God loves you! He has called you His Child. His Goodness and Mercy are following you everywhere you go ready to overtake you and change your life completely. Your strength will be renewed. Your faith will be revived. Confident hope will be refreshed in that moment you choose to acknowledge the Lord’s Presence and become a vessel of His Glory. Praise does just that! Worship is a life style! Praise is adoration! It tells the Lord what you think of Him in the midst of hardship and even on your way out of oppression. It relays confidence that He is doing just as He promised by demonstrating a willingness to wait for Him. Praise is not produced by our circumstances but evidence of our love that is stronger than death and the grave carried out through Eternity. Praise the Lord! You have every reason to praise Him no matter what you are going through because He is the reason you are making it to the other side. Jesus is the anchor of your soul that keeps you from going under in the storm. (Hebrews 6:19) He is the confident hope. His Power and Strength are at our disposal in exchange for our love and trust. Tell the Lord that you love Him today. Bless His Name. He is worth it. Jesus is with you always! He has not left you. Shout over the whispers of the enemy telling you to go back – press on with your praise! Step boldly into the Presence of God opening the door with praise! He is your refuge! You are a Child of God! Talk like it! Live like it! Prosper in it! Praise the Lord today!
