Prairie Highlands Golf Course the backdrop for the Golf Channel Am Tour

The Golf Channel Amateur Tour took to the fairways at Prairie Highland Golf Course Sunday July 27. Prairie Highlands Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course that measures from 5,122 yards on the forward tees to 7,066 yards at the back tees.

Matt Heitman and Mark Lutgen were the only players to enter the competition in the Championship Flight. Heitman from St. Joseph, Mo. finished in first place at five over par, at six over par Lutgen from Blues Springs, Mo. finished in second.

In the Palmer Flight Thomas Kass from Overland Park, Kan. posted a six over par for first place. Scott Downey of Overland Park, Kan. and Don Karl of Lee’s Summit, Mo. finished in a tie for second at seven over par.

The Sarazen Flight ended with Jesse Montgomery in first place shooting an eight over par 80. Willie Lang finished in second place posting a 14 over par 86. Topeka, Kan. resident Stanley Emerson finished in third with a 23 over par 95. In the Senior Sarazen Flight Robert Stout of Bucyrus, Kan. posted a 13 over par 85 for first place. Kerry Jones of Excelsior Springs, Mo. finished two shots back at 15 over par. Third place went to Richard Scott from Overland Park, Kan. with a score of 16 over par.

The Jones Flight ended in a tie for first place between Bill Mitchell of Pasadena, Calf. and Jake Dubin from Pleasant Hill, Mo. both posting nine over par 81. Edward York of Gardner, Kan. finished in third place with a score of 13 over par.

Gabriel Brisco from Mesquite, Texas posted a five over par 77 to take first place in the Hogan Flight. At 11 over par 83 Abilene, Kan. resident Andrew Kijowski finished in second place. Third place went to Matt Vaughan of Kansas City, Mo. at 14 over par.

Johnston, Iowa resident Heath Albright finished in first place of the Snead Flight posting a 16 over par 88. One shot behind the leader was Eric Thomas of Bonner Springs, Kan. in second place. Third place went to Chad Todd of Overland Park, Kan. posting a 29 over par 101.

The Golf Channel Amateur Tour next tees it up at Shoal Creek Golf Course for the Kansas City Tour Championship on August 16 and 17.
