PRADA says opera cast members too curvy for fashion designs

It's a polar opposite world out there, folks.

Designer Miuccia Prada has reportedly been called upon to design costumes for the Metropolitan Opera's run of Attila and told the show captains their cast members were too curvy for her fashion designs.

While in other news, magazines like Glamour and Elle are proud to publish plus-size models as a balance to the ever-skinny demands of high fashion modeling, Prada refused to outfit the cast.

According to PerezHilton.com, the Italian fashion designer (who also has a Ph.D. in political science!) demanded the plump extras be replaced with models because her designs would not fit their "curvy figures".

The Opera decision makers told the New York Post the casting for the show "is at the discretion of the creative team" and they will be sticking by their designer.
